December Happenings
December was a full and sweet month of enjoying our family and celebrating the gift of Jesus! Here's a little taste of what our December held . . .
Lots of house projects
How many Waechters does it take to put together a Christmas tree stand?
Malachi officially turned 2 - two 2-year-olds in the house!
Family birthday celebration - the 8-year-old staying with us had his birthday on the exact same day as Malachi, so it was a dual celebration.
Birthday Party for Jesus at Church
Into crafting - we were here at our table getting messy at least once a day
Christmas breakfast with KK and C-Daddy and the cousins
Our friend at church let all three kids play his guitar (this was a huge December highlight for Javen, who is obsessed with guitars lately)
Gingerbread House Making Party
Malachi's Adoption Finalization
We made gingerbread men and Javen made his anatomically correct - he didn't comment on it, so neither did I so I don't know if it was purposeful or coincidence . . .
Going to see Christmas lights with KK and C-Daddy (my parents) and the cousins
A visit to the Tampa chic-fil-a with a huge lights display and fake snow (bubbles) machine
Christmas Morning - Jesus' birthday cake for breakfast family tradition kick-off was a big hit
Some parents give gifts for Christmas - we just give boxes
Christmas afternoon at KK and C-Daddy's house
The fun with boxes continues . . .
Post-Christmas gathering with Scott's side of the family at the ranch - so much fun!
It was a full but fun month. Looking back, 2011 was a hard year but one in which we were stretched and grown a LOT, and I would not change a thing about it. We moved twice, had six foster children, spent 1/4 of the year in Uganda, brought our precious Malachi home, and bought a new house that is a big time fixer-upper (fixer-upper is probably too nice a word for it - disaster is more like it!). We look forward to the year ahead and pray that it will be another one in which we grow to love Jesus more. Happy New Year!
